Vehicle Accident Repair (MET) (Level 2) Apprenticeship at Central College Nottingham

Course description

The programme covers the technical and practical needs for today’s Motor Vehicle Body Repair industry. It provides the technical knowledge for people working on light vehicles (cars and vans) in all types of vehicle body repair facilities.

Course content

You will study both the theory and practical aspects of the following:

  • Removing and Re-fitting of Vehicle Mechanical Components
  • Removing and Re-fitting of Vehicle Electrical Components
  • Removing and Re-fitting of Vehicle Internal and External Trim
  • Health and Safety
  • Materials and Tools
  • English and Maths

English and Maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects will help you develop confidence and are the key employability skills that all employers now look for when recruiting.

Entry requirements

You will need to be employed in a Vehicle Body Repair Shop carrying out appropriate tasks. In addition, applicants must have achieved 4 GCSEs at grades A* to D or Level 1 Vehicle Maintenance qualification or other equivalent qualification.


For each module you will have to complete course work, written assignments, practical assessments, online tests and work based observations. You will have the advantage of an online e-learning package to help you achieve your target.

Future opportunities

Subject to meeting the subject criteria be able to move onto an Advanced Apprenticeship to further improve your knowledge and skills.

Further information

To be an Apprentice MET Technician you must be employed in a Vehicle Body Repair shop working a minimum of 30 hours per week.
