Level 2 Diploma in Information Technology (IT) at Andover College

Course description

A one year course, covering a range of interactive units allowing learners to gain understanding, plus the practical skills necessary to pursue a career within the IT industry.This course offers excellent opportunities to work with local industry and visit relevant places to see IT in practice. Utilising the expertise of the staff who lead the course, there are many opportunities to show and display work completed by leaners. In addition to classrooms, the learners benefit from gaining hands-on experience in our all-purpose IT laboratory.

A successful student needs to be committed, with an interest in IT and a desire to take their skills with them in their future career plans. They will be expected to be able to complete assignment work on time, have reasonable time management skills and be willing to learn a breadth of new subjects. Learners will have the opportunity to develop real life working skills within the IT industry, such as meeting deadlines, working as a team, planning meetings and working independently.

There will also be the opportunity to link classroom theory and vocational activities together, through occasions such as the ICT study trip to Paris.
