Art & Design AS Level at The Campion School

Course description

This course is designed for those students who wish to extend and develop their studies in Art and Design to a greater depth than required at GCSE. This course can be taken as an AS Level in its own right in one year or completed as a full A Level over two years. In the AS Level students are required to complete 2 Units of work. Unit 1 is a portfolio which includes at least one extended project and includes other examples of practice aimed at developing particular skills or extending their knowledge of other artists. Unit 2 is a Controlled Assignment where students will respond to one of five starting points. Students will have 5 hours of supervised time to develop initial ideas following an initial period of research. The assignment will be completed in class time.

Entry requirements

It is advised that students should have achieved at least a B grade at GCSE to be accepted on the course.
