Course description

Why Study Art?

Studying Art and Design will provide you with a solid background for a career in many different fields. Such as: Animator, Architect, Therapist, Costume Designer, Engineer, Illustrator, Landscape Designer, Sign Writer, Author and Film Director to name but a few. You will think and work creatively and expressively, developing a visual awareness that is superior to your peers.

Unit 1: View Points/Ways of Seeing; Unit 2: Externally Set Assignment

A2 Course Outline

Unit 3: Closer Inspection with in-depth written Critical Study; Unit 4: Externally Set Assignment

Entry requirements

In order to study AS/A2 Art we require you have at least a C grade in Art & Design GCSE. Some students will have a C grade in Graphics/Textiles or another Technology based subject. Students studying Art need to be able to work independently and communicate effectively, utilizing a creative work space at home and the studio in class. They must be able to research the work of Artists and make critical written and practical responses.
