Government and Politics at Rushcliffe School

Course description

AS Unit 1 (50%) - People, Politics and Participation. In this paper you will be expected to learn about a range of topics which include political parties, voting systems, voting behaviour and pressure groups.

AS Unit 2 (50%) - Governing Modern Britain. In this paper you will learn about parliament, the British Constitution and where real power lies in the UK, namely the Core Executive.

Entry requirements

There is no requirement to have studied the subject at GCSE but we require students to have achieved at least a B in Maths and English. It will also help to have a real interest in political issues facing our society today.
