Study Media at Blackpool and The Fylde College and you will acquire all the fundamental skills you need to get a foot in the door of TV, film or the digital media industries. Highly practical and work-related, our courses cover a broad range of subjects from factual programme production to video editing, all of which you will learn to professional, industry standards.

You will be set practical assignments where you will be expected to develop an idea and take it through to final production. Whether you are interested in production, direction, editing, camera work or script writing, there’s plenty of scope to explore the various career options which this course presents.
Units and projects that you will undertake: Advertising for Television, Short Film, Music Video, 2D Animation.
5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language and one of the following - Art, Design, Graphics, Drama, Dance, Music or Photography. Alternatively, a relevant Level 2 Diploma at merit plus English Language at grade C.
The course consists of 17 subject units. During the final months of the second year, students work on a self-directed final major project where they decide on a theme and outcome for their own written brief. Grades attainable range through Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction* and hold the same value as C-A* at A level. The qualification you will receive from this course is equivalent to three A levels.
