Course description

This Full course GCSE comprises of 2 units: Religion and Life Based on the Study of Roman Catholic Christianity This unit requires students to study the relationship between Roman Catholic Christianity and life in the UK. There are four sections covering believing in God, matters of life and death, marriage and the family, and religion and community cohesion. The unit is based on a study of Roman Catholic Christianity but students will be expected to be aware of the broader Christian tradition. and Roman Catholic Christianity This unit requires students to study the nature of Roman Catholic Christianity and its effects on the life of Christian believers in the UK. There are four sections covering beliefs and values, community and tradition, worship and celebration, and living the Christian life. Although the specification content is based on a study of Roman Catholic Christianity, students will be expected to be aware of the broader Christian tradition.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Religious Studies or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to religious studies or the more general social sciences such as a Social Worker, Teacher or Youth Worker. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
