Performing Engineering Operations Apprenticeship Level 3 at AWE

Course description

As an electronic apprentice you will spend your first year of training producing a number of electronic projects. These projects will help you to develop your skills and knowledge in basic electronic theory, components, basic circuit design, circuit construction and reporting.

Some of the skills you will develop in the academy includes:

  • Timer circuits
  • Power supplies
  • Logic circuits

Throughout your apprenticeship you will attend a number of lectures designed to increase your knowledge and understanding of further electronic theory, these include:

  • Component recognition
  • Component characteristics
  • Circuit calculations
  • Semi-conductor theory
  • Fault finding techniques

Entry requirements

About You

  • A practical aptitude for engineering or technology
  • PC literate 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Excellent team working skills 
  • Health and safety aware 
  • Effective at following instructions 
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods
