Level 3 National in Applied Science at James Calvert Spence College

Course description

This BTEC National Level 3 qualification is designed to give learners knowledge, understanding and skills needed to prepare for employment. It is a nationally recognised level 3 vocational award. It also provides one A Level equivalent, to enable progression into higher education, degree and professional qualifications. Students will earn credits by providing a number of assignments.

This course is ideally suited to those planning on working as technicians (e.g. forensic science, research labs, quality control), therapists, nursing, or the building industry. It also provides excellent grounding for entry onto non-science based university courses.

Entry requirements

At least 2 GCSE’s in a science subject or Level 2 certificate and extended certificate in Applied Science.

A grade D or above in both English and maths.
