Aviation Environment Level 2 Diploma at Middlesbrough College

Course description

The City & Guilds level 2 Diploma is a specialist Aviation work related qualification. Students will gain the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to prepare for employment in the Airport Environment.

Course content

There are 13 units of study within the course programme: -Health & safety within aviation -Aviation Security -Aviation communications -Airport check in services -Aircraft boarding and arrival services -Airport baggage processing -Loading and unloading of aircraft -Airport baggage facilities -Aviation passengers with special requirements -Aircraft load instruction reports -Aircraft marshalling -Support flight operations -Aircraft dispatch process

Entry requirements

To gain entry to this course you must possess a Level 1 qualification in Travel & Tourism or four or more GCSE's at Grade D or above including Maths and English (or an equivalent qualification i.e. Level 1 English). You must also undertake successful interview and provide a satisfactory reference. "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."

Assessment

Internal assessments will be carried out in a variety of ways including assignments, role plays and presentations.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. Students can seek employment in industry or progress to a Level 3 qualification in Aviation or in Travel and Tourism. Progression to NVQ level 2 in MC Travel is also available.
