Why study this subject?

Studying world religions, philosophy and ethical issues will engage you with a host of theories and ideas.

We will debate everything from creation to a ‘religious lifestyle’, terrorism to sexism, and meditation to miracles.

This course will build on the skills learnt in other Humanities subjects, as well as prepare you for A Level subjects such as History, Criminology, Law, Psychology and Sociology

Course content

Component 1:

Study of religious beliefs, teachings and practices

Christianity and one other major world religion

1 hour and 45 minute exam

50% of the qualification


Component 2:

Thematic studies

Religion and life

The existence of God

Peace and conflict

Human rights and social justice.

Entry requirements

At least a grade 3 in English Language or English Literature
