Religious Studies B (Philosophy and Ethics) (Linear) at Shenley Brook End School
OCR Most students will sit the short course GCSE although there is the option to take full course at the recommendation of school staff. In line with national requirements pupils continue with RE throughout Key Stage 4. Increasingly study concerns moral and ethical issues and relates these to everyday situations. Pupils follow a short course in philosophy and ethics. The focus is on two world religions: Christianity and Islam. Pupils look at how belief shapes the lives of followers of these religions. Not only are religious practices studied but standpoints relating to major personal, community and global ethical issues.
You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Religious Studies or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification.
