Beauty Therapy Level 3 at New College Durham

Course description

This course is ideal if you have worked in a salon, spa or similar job for some time, or have gained Level 2 Beauty Therapy. You may be a junior member of staff who needs to demonstrate specialist skills at a higher level to become a senior therapist.

Course content

You will study the following areas

  • Monitor procedures to safely control work
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities
  • Face and body electrical treatments
  • Body massage
  • Aromatherapy
  • Electrical epilation

As part of your study programme you will also undertake a work placement at an external salon, develop further employment skills that include CV writing, interview techniques and team working attributes, and further enhance your maths and English skills.

Entry requirements

You will need a Beauty Therapy NVQ /VRQ or Level 2 or equivalent or industrial experience. Some placement experience in a salon is desirable at Level 3 Beauty.

Future opportunities

The successful completion of this course may lead to employment in spas, health clubs or salons. You may also consider progression onto Higher Education programmes, such as our Foundation Degree Spa Management, or become self employed.
