GCSE Sociology at Chase Terrace Technology College

Course description

Sociology is the study of Society and groups of people. It adds real understanding to a students knowledge and the world around them. It equips students with knowledge and language to challenge their own beliefs and perceptions of society, it furthers their understanding of economic, social and political powers.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in any of the social sciences or related subjects such as Law, Sociology and Religious Studies or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to the social sciences such as a Social Worker, Social Researcher or Teacher. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
