Course content

To complete a Performing Manufacturing Operations Apprenticeship the following are required:

The Performing Manufacturing Operations NVQ Level 2 is made up of the mandatory assessment route, plus one assessment route from Group A, plus three assessment routes from the Supporting the Operation Group, plus one assessment route from the Job Specific Group:

Performing Manufacturing Operations Level 2 Mandatory Assessment Route

1. Complying with Statutory Regulations and Organisational Safety Requirements

Group A (One assessment route)

1. Promoting Effective Working Relationships

2. Contributing to Effective Team Working

Supporting the Operation Group (Three assessment routes)

1. Transferring Materials

2. Preparing for Manufacturing Operations

3. Concluding Manufacturing Operations* or

4. Ensuring Effective Handover of Manufacturing Operations*

5. Receiving and Checking Incoming Materials

6. Controlling Manufacturing Operations

7. Contributing to Improving Effectiveness in the Workplace

8. Analysing the Results of Inspection and Confirming Quality of Production

9. Recording and Reporting Inspection and Test Results

* It is not permissible to choose both these options together

Job Specific Group (One assessment route)

1. Transferring Materials

2. Producing Shaped Products

3. Producing Products by Assembly Operations

4. Producing Joined Products

5. Producing Products by Processing

6. Producing Formed Products

7. Finishing Products

8. Producing Moulded Products

9. Producing Packaged Products

10. Making Products Using Computer Controlled Equipment

11. Manufacturing Products Using Combined Manufacturing Operations

12. Analysing the Results of Inspection and Confirming Quality of Production

13. Analysing the Results of Inspection and Confirming Quality of Production

14. Carrying out Inspection and Testing Activities
