Graphic Design with Photography Level 3 Diploma at Warwickshire College Group
This course will involve lots of practical based work, working in the College’s new graphic design and photography studios.
There will also be some theory work to prepare you for design and photography briefs.
The units you will study may include digital photography, computer graphics, stop motion animation, sound and video, illustration, typography, page layout, communication skills,
packaging design and promotion.
Some of the software packages that you will use will include Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
You need to have five GCSEs at Grade A* - C or a Level 2 Diploma in Graphic Design with Photography at mainly Merit level.
You will also need to have a successful interview, to which you will need to bring a photography or art portfolio.
English and maths qualifications are vitally important for future employers and universities, so the government has made it a priority for students to improve these skills.
Entry Level / Level 1 and Level 2: We’re here to help you on your journey, so if you do not achieve grade A*-C in GCSE English and/or maths, then you will study English and/or maths as part of your college course.
Students who achieve a D grade will be placed on the relevant GCSE programme, while students who achieve an E or below will be assessed to ensure they are placed on the right study programme for their ability.
Level 3 programmes: You will need to meet the course entry requirements specified on the course information above. For the majority of our Level 3 courses, students will need grade A*-C in GCSE English and/or maths. If this is not specified in the course entry requirement, then you may be able to study English and/or maths as part of your college course.
You will be continually assessed throughout the course.
On successful completion of the Level 3 course you can progress on to a Higher Education course at HND or degree level at university or find employment in the media, design or photography industry.
