Leisure Studies (Applied) at The Marlborough School

Course description

The Leisure Industry – In this unit you will investigate the range, scale and importance of the leisure industry in both the UK and Europe, as well as exploring the commercial and non-commercial sectors that provide leisure services. You will also investigate the factors that affect people's participation in leisure, and recent and current developments in the industry.

Working Practices in Leisure – This unit gives you the opportunity to investigate practices mranging from essential health and safety through to desirable quality systems which focuson customer satisfaction and retention.

The Leisure Customer – Without customers the leisure industry would cease to exist. All customers are individuals and have different needs. This unit gives you the opportunity to consider how the leisure industry has identified the customer, or consumer, as vital to the success of its provision and its future, and how the industry attracts customers and attempts to meet their needs.

Entry requirements

GCSE English at Grade C or above
