Sport Btec at Benfield School
To successfully complete the BTEC National Sport you need to have a positive attitude towards sport, excellent attendance and a good attitude towards independent learning. You also have the chance of opportunities such as CSLA (Community Sports Leader Award) along with coaching skills.
The Level 2 Gym Instructor course is part of the sport option and if successful can help you gain employment in the sports industry.
Each unit has a grading grid which contains statements of the assessment criteria used to determine the evidence that each learner must produce in order to receive a pass, merit or distinction grade. It is important to note, the merit or distinction grading criteria refer to a quantiative improvement in your evidence.
BTEC National students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning. As the programme is coursework based it means your tutor won't expect to have to stand over you all the time to check what you're doing. This helps you to develop the skills to be mature and independent at work. Students also get the chance of work experience in the sporting environment as one of the units. The Level 2 Gym Instructor course is externally assessed from a professional sporting organisation.
When finishing the course you will receive the equivalent of 2 A-Levels for a Diploma or 3 A-Level equivalents for the Extended Diploma.
