BTEC Health and Social Care Level 3 Diploma at Stationers Crown Woods Academy

Course description

An independent learner who benefits from experiential learning, fitting theory to real life work situations or practical activities and coursework-based assessment. This is a specialist two-year work-related qualification that extends your awareness of the philosophy of health and social care. You will complete 12 units over the course.

Course content

An interactive course including a range of visits and guest speakers, which will develop your skills of reflective practice, critical analysis, evaluation and research methodology. You will attend placement once a week and experience three different work placements within health and social care related sectors. Mandatory units include: Effective Communication; Diversity and Rights; Health, Safety and Security; Development Through Life Stages; Anatomy and Physiology; Personal/Professional Development; Sociological and Psychological Perspectives. Optional units include: Caring for Children; Safeguarding Adults; Working in the Health Sector; Research methodology.

Entry requirements

H&S Care BTEC L2 diploma at Merit or 5 A*-C grades incl. English and preferably Science

Future opportunities

An Adult or Paediatric Nurse, Midwife, Counsellor, Social worker, Teacher, work in Psychiatry, Occupational Health, Child Development, Early Years sector or progress to Higher Education.
