Preparation for Employment Award at Aylesbury College

Course description

This Full-Time programme offers young people ages 16-18 a variety of opportunities to learn, train and develop skills for employment. This course is aimed at 16-18 year olds with moderate learning difficulties to help them gain confidence.

Course content

This programme will provide you with opportunities to gain confidence and learn about how to gain future employment.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, but you will need to show a high level of commitment to the programme. You will need to attend an interview and provide a reference.


A portfolio of work will be built from each module, giving you a comprehensive work record to use for progression opportunities.

Future opportunities

Upon completion, you may be able to progress to other College courses within the Foundation Learning Tier or mainstream provision.

These courses will provide grounding for entry into paid or voluntary employment.

Further information

This course may provide a work experience opportunity within the College. As part of this course you will also complete a Functional Skills qualification in English.
