Hospitality Supervision BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma at Guildford College

Course description

This one year course offers a broad study of hospitality and catering including chef training in our kitchens, hotel and restaurant supervision training in the restaurant and other elements such as HR, customer service and financial control.

On successful completion of the 90-Credit Diploma, you will be able to progress on to the Extended Diploma in the second year.

Course content

Topics: The Hospitality Industry, Principals of Customer Service within Hospitality, Providing Customer Service, Financial Control within Hospitality

Optional topics include: Food and Drink Service, European Cuisine, Asian Cuisine, Marketing for Hospitality, Personal Selling and promotional skills in hospitality and Industry related project.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C and above, including English and Maths.

Assessment

Assignments, practical projects, case studies and portfolio. Some external assessments.

 

Financial information

You will need to buy a uniform and some equipment for work in the kitchen and restaurant.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the 90-Credit Diploma, you may move on to the second year of this course to complete the full Extended Diploma. On completion of the full Extended Diploma, you could progress onto study a Hospitality Management Foundation Degree at the College or pursue a career in the industry.
