Creative Digital Media Production Level 2 Diploma at New College Durham

Course description

You will be introduced to a wide range of creative skills used within the media industries. You will have the opportunity to explore creative techniques and processes including operating digital cameras (video and photography based), audio/sound equipment, and script writing. This qualification enables progression onto our Level 3 courses usually in either Media Production or Graphic Design. You will work on projects both independently and in within groups to develop the teamwork and communication skills necessary to work within the subject.

Course content

The main areas covered in this course are:

  • Video Production
  • Audio Production

The course is based on a series of units, each of which are mandatory. Assessment is conducted on a continuous basis and verified externally. There may be an expectation to work towards a functional skills qualification in Maths and/or English if you do not have these at GCSE grade C or above.

Entry requirements

A minimum of four GCSEs at grade D or above, ideally including English and Maths but not essential (or an equivalent related qualification), and the successful completion of the course induction period.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course will provide you with the required qualification to seek progression to an appropriate Level 3 course.
