Applied ICT AS/A2 Level at Balby Carr Community Academy

Course description

Applied ICT GCE is equivalent to an AS/A2 qualification but takes a practical vocational route.

Therefore the course combines practical application and ICT theory. You will be asked to complete 6 units which will be assessed through the completion of a variety of portfolios and two external tests.

Entry requirements

The Applied ICT course is only suitable for students who can confidently use a computer and can express themselves well in a written format.

You will be expected to have achieved grade A-C in other subjects, preferably English, Math and ICT.

However the most important requirement is the ability to work independently, to deadlines and the capability to produce the high standard of work required.

Assessment

The course will be assessed in two ways:

1) External examination/assignment

2) The production of portfolios (see above)
