Critical Thinking AS level at Sacred Heart of Mary Girls' School

Course description

This AS level course develops your ability to analyse, evaluate and construct arguments. It is a very useful preparation for university entrance examinations. Critical Thinking examinations assess high level thinking skills and success is highly regarded by universities and employers.

Entry requirements

Applicants to the Sixth Form need to have achieved a minimum of five FULL GCSEs at grade C or above as well as the entry requirements for the individual course:

An excellent performance at GCSE is required. There is also an aptitude test.


There are two examination papers:
Unit 1: Introduction to Critical Thinking. 90 Minutes 50%
Unit 2: Assessing and Developing Argument. 90 Minutes 50%
