Careers and Vocational Education at Riverside School
This course prepares students to make educational, vocational and training choices and prepare them to manage a wide range of adult roles. KS4 students study a 'World of Work' topic, and run a variety of mini-enterprise activities and participate in a vocational skills programme which develops careers and interview skills.
You could take this short course with a related GCE or other qualification to prepare for further education in areas of care such as BTEC Higher Nationals in Care or degree programmes. You could also go on to study an NVQ vocational qualification in areas related to care, which could be work-based. With further training, you could go into a job related to care such as a Social Worker, Nurse or Health Visitor. The course provides a work related programme of study so you could go straight into a job as it helps you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers are looking for, especially in the care sectors.
To find out more about this qualification, contact us, ask your Connexions Personal Adviser or school/college careers staff.
