Advanced Apprenticeship IT and Telecoms Level 3 at The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London
This is a Level 3 course and graduates will complete the following award: Advanced Apprenticeship for IT & Telecoms Professional. This is an exciting opportunity for apprentices to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a number of ICT areas. Apprentices will learn how to install, configure and administer computer networks including IPv4 and IPv6 configuration, subnetting and security. The installation and administration of Windows 2008 server including Active Directory and Group Policy management will be covered. Apprentices will also learn how to install, configure and upgrade ICT software including Windows 7 and Microsoft Office and configure and test ICT hardware incorporating health and safety. In relation to web development apprentices will learn how to develop multimedia websites.
Whilst on the programme, you will be working within a classroom setting which will include practical and written work including projects, assessments and preparation for professional exams. You will also be gaining hands on experience in your work placement.
Ideally you will hold 5 GCSE grade A*-C including English and mathematics or an equivalent Functional Skills in English and mathematics. You will need to have a keen interest in IT and developing a career in IT.
You will be working with an IT trainer and an IT assessor who will assess your work via a range of assessment methods throughout the programme. You will also sit Microsoft Technical Associate exams..
This is a hands-on course that will allow designing, configuring and maintaining network hardware and systems software. This is valuable preparation for a career in the IT industry and also for progressing to university.
