Chemistry at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form Free School

Course description

Chemistry is absolutely central to our understanding of the universe. By studying chemistry you will gain a deeper insight and understanding of the building blocks of matter itself and how the interactions between these results in the complexity of everything we see and can’t see around us today. If you want to be challenged in a way that no other science does choose chemistry. The topics covered are; Atoms including how they are grouped on the Periodic Table and how they bond, equilibria, the chemistry of the hydrocarbons including chains, rings and polymers as well as energetics and resources

Entry requirements

Our entry requirements are in-line with other local providers. To study with us you will need to have an average of at least 6 grade Bs at GCSE, (including grade B’s in any subjects that you wish to study at A level that you have already studied at GCSE.) We are aware that there may be special circumstances that mean that you won’t achieve this level of results. We do sometimes reduce this minimum standard under such conditions - please do get in touch.
