Information Technology Users Level 1 - BTEC Level 1 Diploma at Exeter College

Course description

This course will help you develop the basic skills and knowledge to use a computer in a professional work environment.

You will be taught mainly in a group but you will also need to be motivated to work independently on some assignments

Course content

You will improve both your hardware and software knowledge and increase your understanding of the way computers work. You will learn how to use approximately 10 software applications in a professional environment. This course not only aims to increase your skills and knowledge but also to improve your general confidence. In addition, an important element of this course is to improve your ability in English and Maths.

Entry requirements

You should have at least four GCSEs at Grade E or above, including maths and English. This is a vocational course so an interest in gaining a job in a related area is important.

Assessment

For your IT course you will be assessed via assignments and coursework. You will need to sit tests for your Maths and English.

Course fees are applicable.

 

Future opportunities

On successful completion you may be able to progress to a Level 2 course or an apprenticeship. Some students choose to seek employment.
