Vocational Studies Level 1 at Outwood Academy Hemsworth
The new level BTEC qualifications are designed to encourage students to develop personal skills and qualities they require for work, learning and to help students achieve their full potential.
Students will be required to undertake work experience in an appropriate setting.
Students will study a variety of units from a range of applied and technical areas
There will be the opportunity for students to gain credits from units in areas such as:
Health and Social Care
Students who have not already achieved Grade C or above will take part in resit lessons in Maths and English at an appropriate level.
Students will be expected to possess a range of GCSEs at Grade 3 - 1 or equivalent or an entry level qualification
Units are assessed using project assessments. Each unit has a credit value. Students will complete a variety of units, to give them a total of up to 40 credits. All the assessment criteria for a unit must be completed before the credits available for that unit can be awarded
Level 1 BTEC Certificates/Diplomas help students prepare for employmnet and provide a good grounding to go on to a Level 2 course in a vocational subject
