Plumbing Level 2 Apprenticeship at Northumberland College

Course description

This course is for anyone who works as a plumber and wants to gain a qualification. An Apprenticeship is an excellent way to earn money whilst gaining hands on practical work experience.

Course content

You will study how to install all types of pipe work systems including cold water, hot water and central heating.

Entry requirements

You should have four GCSEs at Grade D or above including English, Maths and Science or a relevant Level 1 qualification and be employed in the industry.

Assessment

Your progress will be assessed by a series of online exams, by building a work based portfolio of evidence and by observations of your practical skills relating to your work. You will receive guidance and support relating to your progress throughout the qualification.

Future opportunities

After completing the course you could progress onto the NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering Services (Plumbing), if you have employment in the industry. This can lead onto specialist areas and a degree programme in building engineering services. Career opportunities are worldwide with consultant building service engineers earning over 100,000 pounds. Plumbers are one of the highest paid trades within the construction industry. The sector is an enjoyable exciting area to work offering secure employment for your future.
