Drama (GCSE) at Abbot Beyne High School - a Specialist Visual Arts College

Course description

In this course you will look at the drama process as well as the final product from the perspective of Director, Designer, Deviser and Performer. This will help you to improve your performance skills by creating your own work and recreating or realising existing work. You will develop your imagination and your ability to create drama. You will learn how to communicate your intentions to an audience and develop the skill of working with others to achieve a common purpose.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Drama or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to drama such as working in the Film, Television or Theatre industries. You may also like to look at joining a theatre group to increase your drama and theatre experience. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
