Philosophy at Trinity Catholic College
The film ‘The Matrix’ poses one of the basic questions philosophers have been asking for thousands of years - how do we know that anything around us (including ourselves) is real? This is the starting point of philosophy. It involves trying to establish whether knowledge is ever truly possible, and then to look at whether we can have knowledge of right and wrong, or make sense of our own existence.
To study AS Philosophy you need to have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade C or better, including English Language. Please note that the entry requirements for an AS programme depend on the number of courses you intend to take.
