Business Applied AS/A2 Level (Modular) at Anglo European School

Course description

AS course:


BS01– Investigating Business – the meaning of enterprising behaviour.

BS02– People in Business – activities associated with the recruitment process.

BS03 – Financial Planning and Monitoring – planning finance and using this information in decision making.


A2 course:


BS08 - Business Planning – a synoptic unit where a business plan is produced.

BS10 – Promotional Activities – producing a promotional campaign.

BS11 – The Marketing Environment examining the impact of the external environment on marketing decisions.

Entry requirements

Students are not required to have a GCSE in this subject in order to study it at A Level.

Grade C in Business Studies, if studied at GCSE. If Business Studies not studied at GCSE, a grade C in a Humanities subject at GCSE.

It is only recommended that a student takes one Applied A Level in conjunction with other A Levels.


All six units have equal weight.

AS Units BS01 & BS02– coursework assignment.

AS Units BS03 – external exam.

A2 Units BS08 & BS10 – coursework assignment

A2 BS11 – external exam.
