Performing Arts (Dance & Musical Theatre) BTEC Level 3 90 Credit/Extended Diploma at West Cheshire College

Course description

A programme designed to ensure that all our students are fully equipped with the techniques, performance skills, disciplines and confidence they need to pursue a career as a professional dancer. Our past students are now performing worldwide as dancers, choreographers, teachers and Directors. 

As part of the programme you will study different dance disciplines including , Modern dance, Musical theatre Jazz dance, Classical ballet, Tap dance, contemporary dance, Street Jazz/Hip hop, Fitness for the performer and employability skills. 

All courses are led by fully qualified dance specialist tutors. (RAD /IDTA) Ensuring we provide the best training to our students, to pursue a professional performing career.

As part of the ”Advanced professional dancers course” there is the  option  to study  a teacher training programme and of course you will be represented and guided for professional work in your  final year.

We have fully equipped dance studios and a theatre on the campus.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade C or above or successful completion of a Level 2 programme including English and maths. All applicants must also successfully complete either a musical theatre workshop and/or dance workshop.

Assessment

You will be continually assessed throughout the programme.
