Textiles A Level at Halesowen College

Course description

The course is designed to introduce you to a range of media materials and processes and will allow you to develop a range of skills in the manipulation and exploration of print, pattern, fabric and textile techniques based on initial drawing and research into historical and contemporary artists and designers.

Entry requirements

  • At least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C across a range of subject areas, including English Language and Art (or Textiles)

You will need to retake GCSE Maths as part of your programme if you do not have a grade C. You may be advised to retake GCSE Science, depending on your chosen career.

Assessment

Work is assessed in through coursework and examination.

All student development is supported by on going one-to-one feedback, self and peer assessment. We suggest you bring a basic art/textiles kit to include pencils, sketchbooks, scissors etc.
