Sport & Exercise Science BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Bishop Douglass School

Course description

Additional BTEC Level 3 Diploma (30 credits) Year 13 only

The 60 credit BTEC Level Subsidiary Diploma extends the specialist work-related focus from the BTEC Level 3 Certificate and covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the appropriate vocational sector. The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma offers greater flexibility and a choice of emphasis through the optional units. It is broadly equivalent to one GCE A Level. There is also scope for students who gain a Distinction or Distinction* to take the next level of study and pursue the Diploma course.

Future opportunities

PE provides career opportunities including: Physiotherapy, sports coaching, medical profession, teaching, , sports psychology, sports journalism to name but a few.

Further information

There will be at least one lesson per week of Physical Education for all students in the 6th Form. The students may opt for one of many sports on offer on a weekly basis.

  • Table-Tennis Students may also attend one of our many extracurricular lunchtime and after school activities
