City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies at Andover College

Course description

This course covers several massage techniques including body massage, aromatherapy, Indian head, stone therapy and Thai massage. The department has two commercial themed salons fitted with excellent facilities to match that of industry, and four training salons all fitted with top of the range equipment. The staff are all fully trained to advanced level, and have considerable experience of working within the industry as salon owners, working in film and theatre, winning competitions and providing a fun and exciting environment.

To be a successful student you will need to have a keen interest in complementary therapies, be a team player, enjoy working with members of the public, great communicator and listener and a happy personality. At this level students must be able to self-study and commit to additional activities outside of the classroom.

Across the duration of the course you will be offered several enrichment activities as well as trips and outings to further your learning experience. You will be required to liaise with a salon of your choosing to complete work experience (minimum 5 days).

You will be able to enter into national competitions, attend additional workshops eg ear-piercing, spray tanning, airbrush make up, trips to find out about careers, cruise ship visits trips to see working spas, study tours abroad, work experience, community projects, tasters in new products and techniques.
