Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) Level 3 at Plume College

Course description

The Extended Project Qualification is a popular option in many Sixth Form Colleges providing students with a unique opportunity to study an area of personal interest or expertise while developing skills beneficial to both the workplace and university. The Extended Project should be of A2 standard and is worth up to 70 UCAS points; the same as an AS qualification.The course is designed to allow students to have a significant input into the choice and design of their Extended Project and take responsibility for an individual task. It develops and improves students’ own learning and performance as critical, reflective and independent learners. Students’ will develop decision-making creative problem-solving skills as well as extending their skills in planning, research, critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and presenting. Additionally,students will have the opportunity to use their ICT skills and apply new technologies to theirproject.

Entry requirements

Students will be asked to submit a short letter of application and will be selected on their ability to show they are organised, self-motivated and have a love of studying and research. Achievement Leaders will be asked to endorse applications based on student progress and level of success in current programmes of study.
