Public Services Level 1 Diploma at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

This course is for those who would like to consolidate their knowledge of public services and gain a qualification that will help them gain employment within the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services  or the Armed Forces. This dynamic course will include command and control, citizenship, diversity, crime and its effects on society, government policies and public services, leadership and teamwork as well as physical preparation, health and lifestyle.  Maths and English will be at the core of your study programme. 

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs Grade E-G and/or demonstrate an interest in the subject. All places are subject to interview and the applicant bringing a portfolio produced to an appropriate standard. Applicants subject to ind/prob period

Financial information

Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds where needed as a stepping stone to progress to a Full Level 2. Also free to learners who are in receipt of JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) ESA ((Employment Support Allowance, (work related activity)) or Universal Credit (mandated). Where fees are payable you can set up a payment plan that best suits your needs

Future opportunities

Once you have successfully completed the Level 1 you could progress onto the Level 2 in Public Service. Successful completion of public services courses can open the doors to a career within tthe public sector, emergency services and armed forces, across all disciplines from children's services to mechanical engineers.
