Motor Sport BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Carshalton College

Course description

This course provides students with an introduction to Motor Vehicles with an emphasis on Motor Sports.

Course content

This course includes

  • Motor Sport General
  • Track Health and Safety
  • Housekeeping and Industry Standard Repair Techniques
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics and
  • Science which will be related to motor vehicles as well as Vehicle Electrics.

The course has practical workshop sessions where you will be working on cars in preparation for a Track Day at Brands Hatch later in the course.

Entry requirements

This course is suitable for students aged 16 and over. Ideally you should have GCSEs at grade D in Mathematics and English as well as a Science.

You will have the opportunity retake your GCSE should you need to, in order to achieve a grade C alongside the Motor Vehicle course.

Future opportunities

You can progress to the BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Motor Sport course (Year 1).

After Year 1 you can then progress to Year 2 of the Motor Sport course with an aim to study Motor Sport at University.
