Physical Education A level OCR at Wimbledon College
Physical Education examines both the practical aspects of Physical Education but also the theoretical aspects such as Anatomy and Physiology, Acquiring Movement Skills, Sports Psychology and Socio-cultural/ Contemporary Issues. Students have the chance to coach or perform in a practical area of Physical Education.
For Level 3 courses - five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C, with at least 3 B grades entry requirement for each course – this is usually a grade B or better in each subject to be taken at Advanced Level (or BTEC3) or relevant cognate subjects as set out in the published entry requirements (see page 12) for Level 2 courses - five or more GCSEs at A*-D
Physiological factors affecting performance – 90marks 2 hour paper Psychological factors effecting performance – 60marks 1 hour paper Socio-cultural issues – 60marks 1 hour written paper Practical exam – 60marks practical/ coaching performance & an Evaluation/ Analysis of Performance.
