IT BTEC Level 3 National Certificate at Strode's College

Course description

This course offers a specialist qualification delivered with a vocational emphasis. All the assessment is completed through coursework and assignments relate to real-world scenarios. If you enjoy coursework and feel you learn best by completing practical work, then a BTEC course in IT could be right for you.

Course content

This is an ideal course to study units from a wide range of IT topics to maximise the different career pathways you could follow. You will develop your creative skills in units such as computer animation, graphics and multimedia, technical skills in computer hardware and skills required for business such as using spreadsheets and project management.

Entry requirements

General entry requirements for a Level 3 Pathway. Plus C in Math GCSE and C in IT GCSE or a Merit in Level 2 IT BTEC.


100% internally-assessed and externally moderated coursework.

Financial information

A trip to Thorpe Park is organised, and visiting speakers, including ex-students are invited to give talks on careers in IT and IT Apprenticeships.

Future opportunities

This course is designed to equip learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding required for a wide range of job roles in IT and business. Alternatively, student progress to higher education at HND or degree level.
