Plastering Diploma Level 2 at Lancaster and Morecambe College

Course description

This course is for students who wish to work in the construction industry and progress onto a level 3 course or an apprenticeship. 

Course content

You will study the following:

• Health, safety and welfare in construction • Information, quantities and communication • Understanding construction technology • Apply render materials to external surfaces • Fix dry-lining and plasterboard products to interiors • Form sand and cement screeds • Produce fibrous plaster components • Apply plaster materials to internal surfaces • Position and secure fibrous plaster components 

Entry requirements

In order to join the course you will need either 5 GCSEs grade A*-D including English or maths or a related level 1 qualification. You must show enthusiasm, commitment to study and have a proven interest in construction.

Assessment

The course is continually assessed in a range of methods including assignments, coursework, portfolio presentation, exam/online test and practical performance.

Financial information

Students will be expected to pay £50 prior to the start of the course. This includes personal protective equipment and stationery which will be required for the course.

Future opportunities

The course can lead on to Diploma Level 3 in Plastering or Plastering Apprenticeship

Further information

You will be expected to undertake occasional home study on this course.

What qualification will I get?

Cskilss Level 2 Diploma in Plastering which is nationally recognised by employers. This is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade C or above
