Health and Social Care (L3) BTEC Extended Diploma at Stanmore College

Course description

This two year course leads to a nationally recognised qualification.It comprises18 units of health, psychology and science subjects. The theoretical component is usually completed over four college days per week, with one day per week and two 1 week block placements in each year within a work setting. Students will gain work experience in both adult and childcare settings during their course.

Additional Studies
Students will have the opportunity to retake GCSE Mathematics or additional studies as available. 

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English. Alternatively,BTEC First Diploma at Merit grade or above plus GCSE English grade C or above.

How long is the course?
This is a full-time two-year course.


Assessment is by internally and externally assessed assignments and a satisfactory work experience portfolio. There is no final examination.
