Design and Technology: Product Design (Resistant Materials Technology) AS and A level at Eastbrook Comprehensive School
Both AS and A Level courses will be particularly attractive to students that have studied and enjoyed GCSE Graphic Products, Product Design or Design, as they will both draw extensively on knowledge and skills acquired in these Design and Technology subjects.
These courses will offer students the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the world of designing and making and to demonstrate their own technological capabilities through the design and making of quality products.
A candidate studying for just the AS level qualification will gain the qualification after a single year of study, and candidates studying for the full ‘A’ level will go on and do another year to gain their ‘A’ level.
It is expected that students hoping to study this course will have achieved a good GCSE grade in Design and Technology.
Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential. You will be required to complete independent research and study. You will need to complete all homework on time and to the required standard. You are expected to take responsibility for your revision and attend any support sessions which are offered when preparing for the examinations or coursework deadlines.
