ArtAdvanced Level at William Brookes School
The AS/A2 Fine Art course provides a natural progression from
GCSE Art. It has a similar structure and assessment objectives,
offering a familiar route for students into advanced study.
Special features of the course include:
One unit of coursework and a controlled test in AS.
One unit of coursework and a controlled test in A2.
A broad and balanced study of the disciplines of Art and
Teaching to develop skills in drawing and painting, mixed
media, ceramics, batik and computer graphics/animation.
An opportunity to develop knowledge of Art, Craft and
Design through personal research.
The opportunity for students to participate actively in the
course, recognising and developing their own strengths.
Flexibility to enable students to identify and sustain their own
lines of enquiry.
An integrated approach to practical, critical and contextual
Specialist accommodation, ceramics and batik.
The successful completion of the GCSE Art and Design course to a good grade ‘B’ or above.
