Design & Technology - Product design A Level at Grimsby Institute

Course description

The A Level design & technology course is designed to give students the opportunity to develop creatively, use their innovation and build upon on their design skills, whilst learning about the complex relationships between design, materials, manufacturing and marketing.

If you are interested in all aspects of design, this A Level is for you.

Course content

You will carry out a design project, producing a design portfolio and a final product. You will look at the design process, relevant materials, manufacturing technology and much more.

Entry requirements

  • At least 8 GCSEs including English and Maths
  • An average point score appropriate for your chosen pathway from all your GCSE subjects

Future opportunities

Upon completion of your course you will be ready to enter employment in a number of careers in the engineering and advanced technology industry or further your studies and specialise at university.
