Course description

No two jobs are the same for a painter and decorator, depending on your creative skills you could be looking at special effects, sign writing or interior design working on suburban houses or commercial sites.

Course content

National Vocational Qualification (NVQ): Diploma in Decorative Finishing andIndustrial Painting Level 3
Technical Certificate: Diploma in Painting and Decorating Level 3
Functional Skills: English Level 2, Mathematics Level 2

Entry requirements

There are no academic requirements for this programme but you do need to be working to take the qualification. You also need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. Students should also have achieved the Level 2 Apprenticeship Painting & Decorating

Future opportunities

You could gain further qualifications in Higher Education after you have achieved the Advanced Apprenticeship such as a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Construction Technical and Professional or a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Construction, Construction and the Built Environment or Construction Management leading on to a Higher National Diploma (HND).
