Bricklaying L2 Diploma at Bishop Auckland College

Course description

If you aspire to be a Bricklayer then this is the place to start. You will learn and practice the skills needed to be successful in your career, whether this is working for an employer or working for yourself running your own business. This full time course is taught over 3 days a week for 1 year and includes Maths, English, Work experience and Enterprise.

Course content

The course contains 5 units which have 2 online tests and 4 paper based (theory and practical). The units are: – Health, Safety and Welfare in construction – Principles of building construction, information and communication – Building solid walling, isolated and attached piers – Interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures – Construct cavity walling forming masonry structures.

Entry requirements

What can I do when I finish?

If you gain suitable grades you may want to progress to the Level 3 course in Bricklaying or a paid Apprenticeship at Level 2 or 3.
