Aims of the Course

The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Science (Medical Science) is suitable for students who would like to follow a science based course with an emphasis on medical science. This will give you the right skills to go to university or seek employment in the Science industry.

Course Content

The Qualification consists of three core units and three specialist unit. These could include

* Fundamentals of Science

* Working in the Science Industry

* Scientific Practical Techniques


* Physiology of Human Body Systems


* Physiology of Human Regulation and Reproduction

* Diseases and Infections

Career Opportunities

Successful students may progress to Higher Education to full degree courses in Medical or Forensic Sciences, Audiology, Biomedical and Microbiological Science, Forensic and Criminal Psychology, Nursing and Pharmaceutical sciences. Further additional vocational courses in Science or gain promotion in the workplace.

Assessment

This is a 100% coursework based course. Each unit is assessed by assignments which are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.
